Peter Maxwell is the founder of Peter Maxwell & Associates and is a registered Australian Patent and Trade Mark Attorney holding a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New South Wales. He entered the patent profession in Melbourne in 1962 and has since had extensive experience in both private and corporate practice. Peter was with Email Limited (the Australian licensee of Westinghouse and White Consolidated Industries) between 1964 and 1980 where he was responsible for a wide area of administration including patents and licensing. He became Assistant Secretary of the company in 1972 and held that position until he returned to private practice in 1981.

Peter specialises in electrical, biophysical and medical engineering patents. Peter also has established a significant international trade mark practice and also specialises in the licensing of patents and trade marks. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Patent Attorneys of Australia, an overseas member of the Chartered Institute of Patent Agents (London) as well as a member of the International Trademark Association and a graduate of both the Royal Naval College and the Royal Australian Naval College.

After almost 40 years in the patent profession, Peter is regarded as one of Australia’s most experienced and respected patent attorneys.
